The federal government’s recent move to eliminate funding for Desegregation Assistance Centers (DACs) is not just a misstep—it’s an attack on civil rights law. These centers were created under the 1964 Civil Rights Act to dismantle segregation and enforce equality in our schools. Mislabeling them as “DEI initiatives” is not only false—it’s dangerous.
