Daniel Williams

Director of Curriculum & Instruction South Delta School District - Rolling Fork, MS

Daniel Williams currently serves as Director of Curriculum & Instruction for the South Delta School District in rural Mississippi, where he leads district-wide efforts in curriculum development, instructional design, and professional learning to improve teaching and learning across the district. Daniel is a doctoral candidate in International Education Leadership at Wilkes University, where his studies explore leadership across cultural, geographic, and systemic contexts and the connection between research and practice in creating lasting educational change. He holds a Master of Education in Public School Building Organization & Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University; a Master of Education in Evaluation & Measurement from Western Governors University; an Advanced Graduate Certificate in School District Leadership from The College of St. Rose; and a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. Throughout his career, Daniel has focused on advancing educational equity and improving outcomes for historically underserved students. He recently participated in the School Leaders of Color Organizational Development Collaborative at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and has presented nationally and internationally on educational equity, gifted education, and instructional practices that support student growth. His work with students has also earned state-level Advisor of the Year recognition from professional associations in New York and Pennsylvania. Prior to his current role, Daniel served as principal of Anacortes Senior High School in Washington State, where he made history as the first African American principal in Skagit County. Earlier in his career, he held assistant principal and founding leadership roles at charter schools across New York City. Daniel is a Promise Network Fellow with the Southern Education Foundation and a New School Design Fellow.
