Dr. Edward Brown

Dr. Edward Brown currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Bricolage Academy, a K–8 charter management organization located in the historic Tremé neighborhood of New Orleans that serves students from across the city. A native New Orleanian, Dr. Brown began his career in New Orleans Public Schools as a special education, science, and high school biology instructor. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University, a Master’s in Urban Education from Southern University at New Orleans, and a Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership from the University of Holy Cross. He also participated in the New Leaders for New Schools Aspiring Principals Fellowship. Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has held leadership roles in both charter and district-run schools, including helping lead one of New Orleans’ early charter schools and overseeing schools in underserved communities where his leadership contributed to significant student growth. He has also served as Executive Director of Program Implementation at New Leaders, Inc., and most recently as Director of School Support for New Orleans Public Schools, supporting charter leaders in strengthening financial, operational, and academic outcomes.
