Eric Foister

Superintendent West Memphis Schools - West Memphis, AR

Mr. Eric Foister currently serves as Superintendent of the West Memphis School District, where he is focused on strengthening academic outcomes and expanding opportunities for students across the district. With more than 30 years of experience in education, Mr. Foister began his career as a biology teacher and head boys basketball coach in Florida before returning to his home state of Indiana, where he taught biology and chemistry while continuing to coach. He later moved into school leadership, serving as assistant principal and principal in Clarksville, Tennessee, before becoming Assistant Superintendent at Todd County Schools in Kentucky. Most recently, he served as Assistant Superintendent of the Wynne School District in Arkansas, where he helped guide the district through recovery following the devastating tornado of March 2023.Mr. Foister holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ball State University, a Master’s degree in Special Education from Oakland City University, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Austin Peay State University .He is the recipient of Teacher of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Coach of the Year awards and previously served on the administrative team at Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools when the district was recognized as one of the highest performing districts in Tennessee.
