William Stubbs

Senior Director of Well-Being Uplift Education - Dallas, TX

William Stubbs currently serves as Senior Director of Well-Being at Uplift Education, where he leads efforts to strengthen student support through restorative practices, character education, strategic programming, and mentoring and summer programs for boys of color. He earned his undergraduate degree from Shaw University and continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also a Teach For America alumnus, having joined the Eastern North Carolina corps in 2002, an experience that deepened his commitment to urban education and expanding opportunities for marginalized communities. With more than two decades in education, William has focused his leadership on educational equity, student well-being, mentorship, and community engagement. His work reflects a commitment to creating supportive environments where young people can thrive both academically and personally. Throughout his career, William has served as a middle and high school English teacher, assistant principal, K–12 principal, and district leader. He later transitioned to systems-level leadership with Oklahoma City Public Schools, serving as a principal supervisor and charter school authorizer before joining Uplift Education. Outside of his professional work, William is most proud of being a husband and father. He and his wife of 21 years, Keisa, who is also an educator, have three daughters: Kaeden, Kaede Emerald, and Kaesey. William and his daughters were also featured in the 2019 independent film Girl Dads.
