Meet Our 2022 PLEDGE Fellows

The Professionals in Legal Education Developing Greater Equity (PLEDGE) Fellowship is an 18-month professional development program and intervention-based research project, which launched in June 2022 as a partnership between AccessLex Institute and the Southern Education Foundation. The fellowship targets experienced law school administrators, faculty members, or other similarly situated and experienced professionals.

American University Washington College of Law

Lisa Sonia Taylor (right) is the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Inclusion and Affinity Relations, and Joni Wiredu (left) is the Assistant Dean for Academic Excellence at American University Washington College of Law. Their Capstone will test the efficacy of a cohort- and coaching-based bar exam preparation program for students from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) College of Law

(Marlese Wells)Eurilynne Anise Williams (left) is the Interim Director and Instructor of Academic Success & Bar Preparation, and Marlese Wells (right) is the Instructor of Academic Success & Bar Preparation at Florida A&M University College of Law. Their Capstone will test the efficacy of two interventions designed to improve analysis, reading, and writing skills among students who experience academic difficulty.

Seattle University School of Law

Isabel Freitas Peres (right) is the Director of Bar Studies, and Lily Su (left) is the Associate Director of the Access to Justice Institute. Their Capstone will test the efficacy of a bar exam intervention aimed at improving performance on multiple-choice problems among students who enter law school with low LSAT scores.
