SEF teams with Fund Georgia’s Future to oppose school vouchers

As a steering committee member of Fund Georgia’s Future, the Southern Education Foundation has signed onto a letter opposing SB 233, the Georgia Promise Scholarship Act. The latest proposed universal school voucher bill in the state, this legislation could redirect millions of tax-generated dollars for students to attend private schools. This proposal could syphon funds that otherwise could be invested in public schools or other priorities in the state, contradicting the spirit if not the letter of the Georgia Constitution.
